Too often, executive leaders look in the wrong places when trying to figure out why they are not achieving company goals. Most of the time, failing to achieve goals is not the fault of their processes or techniques, but the result of their thoughts and attitudes.
It’s a pretty simple equation: belief systems lead to actions that cause results. If you, your executive leadership team or your employees behave in ways that are counter-productive, or do not support the company’s primary goals, then it is imperative that you identify the belief systems causing these behaviors.
Let’s say you decide to exercise three days per week in order to achieve your goal of better health, but your primary belief system is that exercise is boring and painful. Based on these beliefs, what are the chances that your new regimen will stick?
