TOTALLY agree, Howard. In my short time as a small business owner, I got way more done in a short period of time than I ever did in person. I found it easier to get to the point on the phone, where as in person I wanted to beat around the bush a little more. Anyone wanting to accelerate their company growth should read this article and take some serious notes.

Comment on C-Suite Belief Systems May be Causing Mediocrity by Rebecca Staton-Reinstein

This article is right on target. I've been struck recently when watching episodes of "undercover boss" how isolated the C-Suite is and how most CEOs really are clueless, even when they have positive belief systems, about what goes on in the trenches. For every C-suiter that is out walking around, talking to people, finding out the truth, there are 100 living in the tower. This leads to many of the bad decisions and poor results and moans of "we can't get good help around here!" I was fortunate to meet Xerox CEO Kerns many years ago and impressed with the fact that he was out talking to line workers at every opportunity, willing to hear the truth even when he didn't like it, and his results were outstanding; bringing the company back from the brink. He knew how to listen. We could use a few more like him.

Wonderful article and checklist. We all need to ask ourselves these questions and revisit these issues with our managers and staff on a regular basis. Great, great questons for everyone that works with you.
Thank you.

I only shared in my article what a well regarded economist shared with the group. The purpose of this article is not to explain the reason for inflation. It is to discuss the findings of an economist that has been highly accurate in his predictions. If you would like to understand how they do their work please go to http://ecotrends.org/ to learn more about their forecasts. The fact is that if we have inflation and it is a lot what should you do? I am not concerned about how we got there.
